Honda Collision Mitigation Braking System Information
What is Honda Collision Mitigation Braking System?™
The Collision Mitigation Braking System™ or CMBS™ is part of the Honda Sensing™ technology that helps keep all drivers safe. This system, in particular, reduces the likelihood of a frontal impact. A forward-facing camera and a radar transmitter make it possible to determine the distance and closing speed of detected objects that lie directly in front of your vehicle.
How much does the Collision Mitigation Braking System™ cost?
The system comes standard if the vehicle is equipped with Honda Sensing™. If the vehicle of your choice is not equipped with Honda Sensing™, you can expect to pay $1,500-$2,000 for the upgrade.
How do I use the Collision Mitigation Braking System™?
To use CMBS™ you must have it enabled when you begin driving. The system will sense a frontal collision is unavoidable. The driver will be alerted to take action by audible and visual warnings if there is potential for a crash. The CMBS™ will automatically apply light braking if the driver reduces speed or take other avoidable actions. Strong breaking will automatically happen if the driver does not give any action.
Which Honda vehicles have Collision Mitigation Braking System™?
Every Honda vehicle has the option of CMBS™ and Honda Sensing™. It’s important to us that every driver feels safe and confident when driving a Honda vehicle.
